A Corn Objective Yield Survey is conducted monthly from August to November to forecast end-of-season yields for the major corn producing states in the US. This report will provide information on the types of data collected from the corn objective yield surveys and how they relate to the Agricultural Statistics Board yield estimates. The information is being provided to data users to aid in understanding the corn objective yield program and to provide a historical perspective of the changes in the number of plants per acre, ears per acre, and average row width indicated by the objective yield survey that have occurred in the objective yield data over the last 15 years.

This report provides insecticide use information on the swine sector of agriculture. All data refer to the on-farm use of active ingredients contained in insecticides applied during the 1999 and 2005 calendar years. Insecticides are applied to swine and swine facilities to control mange/mites, lice, flies, and other pests. Chemical data are provided on a rate per head per application and rate per head per year basis. However, significant variations may be observed due to formulation, application method, and pest condition. Internal use pharmaceutical products are excluded from the report, but dual purpose products that can be applied internally or externally are included. Insecticide use information on chemical applications to swine facilities (excluding rodenticides and termite applications) are also included in the report.

This handbook identifies the usual blooming, harvesting, and marketing dates as well as principal producing counties, producing acres, and major varieties for the fruits and tree nuts covered in the National Agricultural Statistics Service''s national program of crop estimates. It updates the information contained in the previous edition of this handbook issued December 1975.The Field Offices of the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service compiled the basic information, prepared the estimates of usual dates, and designated the important areas of production and major varieties for their respective States. Growers and horticultural specialists were consulted to verify information published.

This document provides revisions to the 2006 in-shell pecan inventories based on information from an incident in September 2006 in which it was reported that in-shell pecans were being double counted, as well as the addition of previously unreported inventories. The unreported inventory data was not available prior to the September 21, 2006 Cold Storage release. Therefore, the July and August 2006 inventory levels are revised from the original release of the September Cold Storage report. There will be no further revisions to 2005 in-shell pecan inventories. Estimates for 2006 are subject to revision during the normal Annual Summary report released in February of the following year. Minimal revisions are expected due to the publication of revisions at this time.

This report contains data concerning the annual efficacy trends and changes in breeding herd structure. These changes and trends are given historical context with analysis on the causes of these changes and trends.

This dataset is grouped into four sections: eggs, broilers (young chickens), other chicken (mature or non-broiler chickens), and turkeys. Within each section, the data are divided into indicators of production, supply and disappearance, and prices and costs. Also included are estimates of production, exports, shipments and consumption, prices paid and received, and costs of production.

This report provides data about non-ambulatory sheep and goats. Statistics in this report include total numbers of non-ambulatory sheep and goats in the U.S., organized by region of the U.S. and age class. Also included are the status of the sheep (culled or recovered or died), also organized by age class.

This dataset includes U.S. wheat acreage, production, supply, trade, use, and price data for wheat flour and rye. The tables previously released annually as part of the Wheat Yearbook are now available in the Wheat Data product on the ERS website. Data include statistics on wheat (including the five classes of wheat: hard red winter, hard red spring, soft red winter, white, and durum) and rye. This annual dataset ceased publication in 2003. It contained the annual, quarterly, and monthly data for domestic livestock slaughter and meat production as well as the inventories, prices, and price indexes for meat and livestock, including cattle, sheep, hogs, poultry, turkey. Also included are the domestic supply and use of red meat and poultry as well as international imports and exports.

This publication provides details about the distribution of agricultural chemical active ingredients commonly applied to selected field and vegetable crops. It presents data on acreage treated with herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, and other pesticides. This report expands upon the information presented in the Agricultural Chemical Usage 2004 Field Crops Summary published in May 2005 and in the Agricultural Chemical Usage 2004 Vegetable Summary published in July 2005. Chemicals are listed by active ingredient, and distribution rates are described by Percent of Acres Treated, Number of Applications, Rate per Application, and Rate per Crop Year, and is organized by designated groups of crop-specific Program States.

This report contains data on the production cycles of broiler chickens and market eggs. Flowcharts for the production of table eggs and broilers are presented along with historical trends for data on chicken hatcheries. Also included is historical data on the value of production of chickens and eggs as well contribution per state to the value of production.

This annual dataset contains statistics on production, supply, and use of milk and other manufactured dairy products, including data on commercial, manufacturer, and government stocks and disappearance of dairy products, as well as import and export data. Also includes prices received by farmers, wholesale and retail price indexes, milk production costs, and information regarding regional shares of U.S. milk production. Tables are in .xls format and downloadable either separately or collectively as a .zip file. For many tables, the most recent year-to-date information is available from Livestock, Dairy, and Poultry Outlook: Tables on the ERS website.

This monthly report includes data on annual and monthly U.S. and global trade, production, and consumption of manufactured and unmanufactured tobacco on a commodity basis and a country by country basis.

This full-text file presents the sheep and lamb inventory by class for selected states or regions and U.S. Data includes expected lamb crop, market sheep and lambs inventory by weight group, number returned to breeding herd. This report is a supplement to Sheep and goats.

Also included are the status of the cattle (culled or recovered or died), organized by cattle over 500 pounds, and calves under 500 pounds.

ERS ceased publication of the Sugar and Sweeteners Yearbook in report format in 2005. The yearbook tables are available in spreadsheet format from the Sugar and Sweeteners Briefing Room data page on the ERS website. This archived report contains data on U.S. and world data on acreage, yield, and production of sugar crops; production, trade, supply and use, and prices for sugar; and supply and use data for caloric and noncaloric sweeteners.

This report includes the number of operations and percent of inventory by size group, state, region, and/or U.S. for all cattle and calves, beef cows, milk cows, hogs and sheep.

This publication reports final estimates of production, price, and value of turkeys. These reports contain data from years 1950 to 2004 and provides a historic record and a benchmark for current estimates.
