This full-text file presents the annual summary of indexes of prices received and paid by farmers; prices received for farm commodities by states and prices paid for production items by region and the U.S., past year and earlier years. Beginning in 2010, the Agricultural Prices Summary is no longer published. All price data series are available from NASS's online Quick Stats database. This data is updated monthly by commodity with the most current estimates available.

This bulletin presents final estimates, including revisions made by the Agricultural Statistics Board (ASB), on mink pelts produced by color, class and number of farms. Data is included for years 2002 to 2006.

It reports on the number of operations, inventory by size, value per head, and total value of livestock. This publication contains data from years 1920 to 2007.

A publication that covered current events, developments, research, extension, and teaching issues in farm credit, insurance, taxation and general agricultural finance. Was published between 1938 and 1995 by the United States Department of Agriculture and from 1996 to 2008 by Cornell University. Articles contained in the publication were contributed by scholars in the field and refereed by peers. Started as an annual publication, it transitioned to publication twice per year, in fall and spring.

This dataset contains annual and monthly U.S. national and state data on acreage, yield, production, price, value as well as U.S. trade by country, per capita use, and fertilizer use on bell and chile peppers. This report is a supplement to the monthly Oil Crops Outlook report. This report examines domestic yearly trends in the supply, use, and pricing of various oil crops and animal fats and their products. Analysis of the global market is also provided with respect to recent market trends and domestic economic situations. Provided in the appendix are the data tables from the annual Oil Crops Yearbook dataset.

This report will provide information on the types of data collected from the wheat objective yield surveys and how they relate to the Agricultural Statistics Board yield estimates. The information is being provided to data users to aid in understanding the wheat objective yield program and to provide a historical perspective of the changes that have occurred in the objective yield data over the last 15 years.

This annual report provides statistical information pertaining to the on-farm use of restricted use pesticides. The agricultural chemical use estimates in this report are based on data compiled from the Agricultural Resource Management Survey (ARMS), Conservation Effects Assessment Project (CEAP), and the Vegetable Chemical Use Survey. The report data is grouped by Program States, and contains surveys of chemical application on cotton and apple crops. The data is summarized by product, and only application data for active ingredients which are part of a restricted use pesticide are included in the report.

This report include data on annual U.S. and global trade on a country by country basis and monthly U.S. imports and exports on a commodity basis of fish. Also included is annual domestic consumption of fish and shellfish.

This dataset contains the annual and seasonal U.S. national and state data for acreage, yield, production, value, disposition, utilization, utilization per capita, and prices for fresh potatoes and processed potatoes. Additional statistics include import and exports of fresh and processed potatoes as well as global acreage, production, and trade. Dataset updated January 2008.

The outlook report and yearbook on floriculture and nursery crops ceased publication in the fall of 2007. The annual yearbook examined floriculture and nursery crop sales, number of growers, imports, exports, and consumption. For floriculture crops, tables include quantity sold, value of sales, wholesale prices, consumption per U.S. household, and import share of consumption.

This report ceased publication in the fall of 2007. This publication houses reports under the name of Tobacco Outlook, Tobacco: Situation and Outlook Report, Tobacco Situation and Outlook Yearbook, and Tobacco Yearbook. The Tobacco Outlook examined burley and flue-cured tobacco production, consumption, prices, stocks, imports and exports, and more, including consumption and trade of tobacco products (cigars, cigarettes, snuff). The yearbook was an annual report that contained data important to the tobacco and tobacco products industries.

This report ceased publication in December 2007. It provided information on the changing conditions in the U.S. floriculture and nursery crop sector. Topics included production, consumption, trade, prices received, and more.

This report presents data on nursery crops including broadleaf evergreens, coniferous evergreens, deciduous shade trees, deciduous flowering trees, deciduous shrubs and other ornamentals, fruit and nut plants, cut and to be cut Christmas trees, transplants for commercial truck crop production, and propagation material or lining-out stock; data include number of producers, number of trees and plants sold, gross sales, percent of sales that were wholesale, number of trees and plants on hand, value of those on hand, and percent of inventory expected to sell in 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, and 4 years or later for 17 selected states and growers having $100,000 or more in sales. Information about number of growers and part-time and full-time hired workers for growers with $10,000 or more in sales is also contained within the report.

This report will provide information on the types of data collected from the Soybean objective yield surveys and how they relate to the Agricultural Statistics Board yield estimates. The information is being provided to data users to aid in understanding the soybean objective yield program and to provide a historical perspective of the changes that have occurred in the objective yield data over the last 15 years.

Distillers grains or corn gluten feed are co-products created during the production of ethanol, and can be used as feed for livestock. NASS collaborated with the Nebraska Corn Development, Utilization & Marketing Board, an agency of the State of Nebraska, to conduct a survey of livestock producers in 12 Midwestern States to determine current usage of distillers grains, essential feed characteristics and concerns keeping producers from using distillers grains. The probability based survey contacted approximately 9,400 operations comprised of beef (cow/calf and feedlot), dairy, and swine species for information on their use of co-products, preferences in color, type of co-products fed, ratings of co-products, and/or reasons for not using co-products. The study included North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and Illinois with a reference data of calendar year 2006. The National Agricultural Statistics Service is publishing the results at the regional level, combining all states surveyed for each of the four livestock species. Most of the estimates are proportions or percentages which allow for statistical comparisons among operations not feeding distillers grains.

NASS conducts weekly surveys of plants that produce and sell over one million pounds of nonfat dry milk annually in order to aid in determining a fair market value for raw milk and the implementation of the National Dairy Support Program. A reporting error was identified in the data published the weeks of March 31, March 24, and March 17, 2007, which resulted in revisions to the NASS weekly nonfat dry milk price. To determine the extent of the misreporting the National Agricultural Statistics Service conduced a special data validation of all qualifying nonfat dry milk plants to review collected data, resulting in revisions made by five firms. This special report contains the original and revised prices and volumes for nonfat dry milk.

This handbook identifies the usual planting and harvesting dates for fresh market and processing vegetables as well as principal producing counties and major varieties for the vegetables covered in the National Agricultural Statistics Service's national program of crop estimates. It updates the information contained in the previous edition of this handbook issued 1977.

The Field Offices of the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service compiled the basic information, prepared the estimates of usual dates, and designated the important areas of production and major varieties for their respective States. Growers and horticultural specialists were consulted to verify information published.

This report provides insecticide use information on the dairy cattle sector of agriculture. All data refer to the on-farm use of active ingredients contained in insecticides applied during the 2001 and 2006 calendar years. Insecticides are applied to dairy cattle and dairy cattle facilities to control mange/mites, lice, flies, and other pests.

This report is a chemical use survey issued by the National Agricultural Statistics Service on livestock and reports on insecticide use information on dairy cattle and dairy facilities in 17 selected states. Active ingredients classified by the Environmental Protection Agency as pesticides are included in the report. Pharmaceutical products for internal pests are excluded, but dual purpose products that can be applied internally or externally are included. Chemical use data is provided on a rate per head per application and rate per head per year basis. However, there is significant variation based on product formulation, method of application, and pest condition. Insecticide use information on dairy facilities (applied for the control of insects and pests only) is also included in the report.
