This monthly weighted average report contains information on negotiated purchases of cattle in the state of Nebraska, as well as total purchases confirmed and comparisons to the previous month and the same month last year. Also included are weight and price statistics for cattle by grade on a live and dressed basis.

This report covers the TX/OK/NM direct slaughter cattle sales. Data presented include confirmed purchases and sales information. Purchase numbers are organized by formula, grid, or contact sales and also contain the numbers for the prior week and year. Cattle sales are organized by sale type, sex, live or dressed, breed, and grade. Each category contains the head count, prices, and weights.

This report is a daily grain report containing bids and/or trades of grain commodities. Grain commodities are classed and graded based on official USDA standards or guidelines for coarse grains, oilseeds, and/or pulses. Price information is released by USDA’s Livestock, Poultry, and Grain Market News Division under the Voluntary Price Reporting authority of USDA’s Agriculture Marketing Service. This report contains price spreads and simple averages for individual grain commodities and may include a basis calculated from the current day or prior day close of a publicly traded futures price. The commodity exchanges used in calculating the basis are identified as either the Chicago Board of Trade, Minneapolis Grain Exchange, or Kansas City Board of Trade.

This report covers the South Branch Slaughter cattle auction. Data presented includes number of receipts and cattle sale information. Feeder and slaughter cattle prices are listed by sex, grade, and weight and also contain the number of heads sold. Also included is an analysis on cattle supply composition.

Federal statute (7 USC 1637b) requires USDA to collect and release dairy product sales information for butter, cheddar cheese, dry whey, and nonfat dry milk, no later than 3 p.m. ET on Wednesday of each week (unless affected by a Federal Holiday). The regulations for the Dairy Product Mandatory Reporting Program (DPMRP) can be found in 7 CFR 1170. The data in the National Dairy Products Sales Report (NDPSR) are also used in the price calculations for the Federal Milk Marketing Orders (7 CFR 1000.53). Entities producing and selling one million pounds or more of these products per year are required to report their weekly sales information to AMS as part of the DPMRP. This data is then reviewed, analyzed, and used to compute prices that are published in the National Dairy Products Sales Report (NDPSR). The market-determined prices, published in the NDPSR, are used in the formulas to calculate raw milk prices paid by handlers based on the end-use or “classification” of milk.
