Superior Livestock Holstein Video Auction

This is a weekly auction report containing prices paid for feeder cattle.  All livestock included in this reports are graded and reported according to official USDA live animal standards or guidelines.  Reports are organized based on USDA’s LPGMN formatting guidelines and instructions, under the Voluntary Price Reporting authority of USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service. This report is a weighted average report released on the current day after completion of the sale.

Canandaigua Stockyards Livestock Auction - Canandaigua, NY

This yearly release contains the head count, weight range, price range, average weight, and average price for steers and heifers by grade. The report also contains the average price of live and dressed steers and heifers for the past year compared with the previous two years. Feedlot areas covered by the report are: Texas/Oklahoma/New Mexico; Kansas; Nebraska; Colorado; Iowa/Minnesota.

This monthly report is part of the Current Agricultural Industrial Reports (CAIR) program, with data collected from all known mills that produce ethanol. The report covers dry and wet mill consumption of agricultural commodities and production of products and co-products for all of the calendar months as well as annual totals.

Description: Class I Prices for each order are calculated by adding the appropriate class I differential (determined by each order's physical county base location) to the monthly Base Class I Price using data from the Advanced Prices and Pricing Factors report. The Advanced Prices and Pricing Factors are released on or before 3:00 P.M. EST, no later than the 23rd of the preceding month to which it applies. If the release date does not fall on the 23rd, the most current release preceding the 23rd will be used in the price calculation. Once monthly average prices have been computed, they are not revised.

Report Synopsis: For milk associated with Federal Milk Marketing Orders, product-price formulas are used to set minimum prices as reported in the Announcement of Advanced Prices and Pricing Factors publication each month. Weighted-average product prices used for these formulas are computed from prices and volumes reported for the most recent two-week period in the National Dairy Products Sales Report (NDPSR).
