This publication presents official estimates of chicks hatched by commercial hatcheries, including monthly and yearly estimates. This data is organized by geographic region and by state. Beginning in 1955, separate estimates were made for the production of chicks hatched for broilers and those hatched for egg production. This series contains data from 1938 to 1959, excluding data from 1944 to 1949.
