This report is a consolidation of a number of other reports. Data presented in this report include the prices and delivery volume of beef and pork cuts, as well as beef and pork by-products and variety meats. Also included are the slaughter costs for hogs and cattle and the breakdown of steer and heifer grading percents in the U.S.

This report is a daily grain report containing bids and/or trades of grain commodities. Grain commodities are classed and graded based on official USDA standards or guidelines for coarse grains, oilseeds, and/or pulses. Price information is released by USDA’s Livestock, Poultry, and Grain Market News Division under the Voluntary Price Reporting authority of USDA’s Agriculture Marketing Service. This report contains price spreads and simple averages for individual grain commodities and may include a basis calculated from the current day or prior day close of a publicly traded futures price. The commodity exchanges used in calculating the basis are identified as either the Chicago Board of Trade, Minneapolis Grain Exchange, or Kansas City Board of Trade.

This is the national weekly direct slaughter cattle report (imported cattle only) for formulated and forward contract purchases, with total dressed and live formula net, negotiated grid net, and forward contract net transactions of. This report concerns prices for the food service market. Included in this report are livestock, dairy, poultry and eggs, and fruits and vegetables. Products are grouped by type and grade with average prices for each product, by region if available. Also included are price changes from the previous week/year.

This report contains information on rail and piggyback shipments, including mode, day, and weight in 10,000 lb units by commodity and origin/district.

Pork cuts are not reported individually, but as a combination of all destinations, sales types, delivery periods, refrigeration types, packaging styles (unless specified), and added ingredients.

The values and volumes reflect marketplace activity for all destinations including export, sales types, delivery periods, refrigeration types, and packaging styles with the exception of specialty pork products.

The pork carcass cutout value of an individual pork carcass is based on the amounts of the various cuts produced by that carcass and the prices of those cuts.
