This report concerns the wholesale market vegetable terminal prices in St. Louis. It contains the quantity and price ranges for each commodity, as well as the commodity's growing origin, variety, size, packaging, and grade. Also included are market offerings and demand for each commodity.

This report contains commentary and data on feed production, supply, trade, use, and prices in both domestic and foreign markets. Transportation rate indexes and shipment information is also contained within the report. Data is available for a number of grains, including corn, oats, sorghum, barley, and hay, along with byproduct feeds. The report also contains a special article focusing on China?s corn production, consumption, exports, and imports, including projections on the country?s future corn trade and role as a major exporter. The Feed Situation report was published monthly during the 1940s and then 5 times a year and quaterly in later decades. Supplemental statistical reports are also offered each year throughout the 1940s.

This report contains price spreads and simple averages for individual grain commodities and may include a basis calculated from the current day or prior day close of a publicly traded futures price. The commodity exchanges used in calculating the basis are identified as either the Chicago Board of Trade, Minneapolis Grain Exchange, or Kansas City Board of Trade.

This report contains the expected plantings and last year's harvest for principal crops and tobacco presented on a state basis. Principal crops are as follows: corn, all wheat, winter wheat, durum wheat, other spring wheat, oats, barley, flaxseed, cotton, rice, all sorghum, sweet potatoes, dry edible beans, soybeans, sunflower, peanuts, sugarbeets, canola, and proso millet.
