TOBACCO OUTLOOK -- NOTICE                          September 19, 2007

After the September issue of TOBACCO OUTLOOK, ERS will no longer maintain 
an active tobacco market analysis program and will discontinue publication 
of TOBACCO OUTLOOK and TOBACCO YEARBOOK. This action is prompted by the 
departure of the ERS tobacco analyst. ERS will continue, however, to include 
tobacco in ongoing research on farm structure, trade, and other key issues.

The final issue of TOBACCO OUTLOOK will be released as scheduled on September 
26, 2007. However, it will not contain analysis, but only an update of some 
of the major tables from the series.

USDA will continue to be a source of information on tobacco. CURRENT information 
from USDA on tobacco is available from the National Agricultural Statistics 
Service (NASS):
