March 1 Hop Stocks Down 6 Percent from a Year Ago The inventory of hops held by growers, dealers, and brewers on March 1, 2025 totaled 173 million pounds, down 6 percent from March 1, 2024 stocks inventory of 184 million pounds. Stocks held at dealer and grower locations on March 1, 2025 totaled 150 million pounds. Stocks held by brewers totaled 23.0 million pounds. Additionally, contacts are made to collect stocks held by brewers and dealers. Telephone follow-up of mail survey non-respondents is used to ensure adequate coverage. Estimating procedures: Information obtained from the hop stocks grower, dealer, and brewers surveys are used to establish estimates of hop stocks. These estimates are reviewed for errors, reasonableness, and consistency with historical estimates. Revision policy: Hop stocks are subject to revision the following estimating period and again in the following year's Hop Stocks report. Revisions can be made when late reports are received, errors are detected in reporting and calculations, or production estimates are revised. No revisions to these years will be made after that date. Reliability: Hop stocks surveys are also subject to non-sampling errors such as omission, duplication, imputation for missing data, and mistakes in reporting, recording, and processing the data. These errors cannot be measured directly, but are minimized through rigid quality controls in the data collection process and a careful review of all reported data for consistency and reasonableness.
