Cotton on hand in consuming establishments at the end of September was 533,855 bales, and the total in public storage and in compresses was 2,059,562 bales. Active consuming cotton spindles totaled 2,556,000, and the quantity of domestic cotton exported, excluding linters was 268,400 bales.
