Cotton on hand in consuming establishments at the end of July was 677,427 bales, and the total in public storage and in compresses was 2,959,776 bales. Active consuming cotton spindles was 2,577,000, and the quantity of domestic cotton exported, excluding linters, was 625,500 bales.
