Cotton on hand in consuming establishments at the end of July was 605,874 bales, and the total in public storage and in compresses was 1,883,597 bales. Active consuming cotton spindles was 2,677,000, and the quantity of domestic cotton exported, excluding linters, was 219,300 bales.
