     Whey Protein Concentrate - Central and Western U.S.

     Whey protein concentrate 34% prices are unchanged this week. While a few manufacturers
     report buyers are making regular inquiries, others suggest the market is in the summer
     doldrums. Aside from the shoppers looking for WPC 34% brands that meet tight end user
     specifications, demand is light. Some industry contacts say that the feed market is not
     taking as much of the WPC 34% that is interchangeable with other dairy proteins. As a
     result, inventories are growing. In some cases, processors would like to move out a few
     loads to make room in the warehouse. WPC 34% production is steady.
