WH_LS750 Kearney, NE Wed Dec 19, 2018 USDA-NE Dept of Ag Market News Huss Platte Valley Auction Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 12/19/2018 Receipts: 5110 Last Week: 5726 Year Ago: 4917 Compared to last week, steers sold unevenly steady and heifers sold 2.00 to 5.00 higher. Large crowd of buyers bid readily from start to finish for the last feeder cattle sale of the year. Most of the run was longtime weaned calves with a few bawlers in the mix. Most cattle sold in moderate flesh and some offerings displayed effects of soft, wet and muddy pens conditions throughout the sale. Wednesday supply comprised of 63 percent steers with 80 percent of the run over 600 lbs. Next feeder sale will be January 2nd.
