MD_DA640 Nonfat Dry Milk - Western U.S. Report 25 - Released on June 22, 2023 The bottom end of the range and mostly price series for low/medium heat nonfat dry milk (NDM) had slight downward movement this week. Contracted commitments have steady to moderate pulls on supplies and some limited activity for securing loads for next year is reported. Spot market activity is somewhat steady to moderate. Market tones are comparatively firmer than the more bearish pressure on dry whey and dry buttermilk. Export demand is mixed. Activity from Mexican buyers has been mostly steady during Q2. Asian buyers are on the quieter end and purchasing more towards short term needs. Most parts of the region have steady milk production and low/medium heat NDM manufacturing is strong to steady. High heat NDM supplies are tighter. Some manufacturers are running only the shorter low/medium heat drying schedules or producing high heat NDM upon request only. Loads are available to accommodate steady high heat NDM demand. Bottom end high heat NDM prices slid down slightly.
