MD_DA640 Nonfat Dry Milk - Western U.S. Report 25 - Released on June 23, 2022 In the West, the price range and mostly price series for low/medium heat nonfat dry milk (NDM) slid lower this week. Contacts report that domestic demand is steady to lower, as some spot purchasers have become hesitant to purchase at current prices. Export demand for low/medium heat NDM has also declined. Contacts report that purchasers in Mexico are reducing their orders. Spot loads of low/medium heat NDM are available in the region. Condensed skim is available for drying operations to run busy schedules, though delays to load deliveries are preventing some plant managers from running full schedules. Production of high heat NDM is limited as drying schedules are focused on the shorter drying times of low/medium heat NDM. The price range for high heat NDM moved lower this week, in line with low/medium heat NDM. Lower prices at the bottom of the range were sales based on variable contract pricing. Spot purchasers say that high heat NDM inventories remain tight, and that demand is unchanged.
