National Hop Report ISSN: 2158-7825 Released December 19, 2025, by the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS), Agricultural Statistics Board, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). 2025 Hop Production Down 5 Percent From Last Year Production for the United States in 2025 totaled 83.1 million pounds, down 5 percent from the 2024 crop of 87.1 million pounds. Area harvested for the United States in 2025 totaled 41,654 acres, down 7 percent from the previous year. Harvested acreage decreased in all states. The United States hop yield, at 1,996 pounds per acre, is up 52 pounds from a year ago. The 2025 value of production for the United States totaled $447 million, up slightly from the previous year. Statistical Methodology Survey Procedures: Grower surveys are conducted in the three estimating States to collect acreage, production, and price data from growers. Estimating Procedures: Information obtained from the hops growers surveys are used to establish estimates of hops. These estimates are reviewed for errors, reasonableness, and consistency with historical estimates and industry check data. Revision Policy: Estimates contained in this report may be revised in the Crop Production Annual Summary report published in January should new information become available. Previous year acreage, yield, production, price, and value estimates can be revised in the National Hop Report published the following year, if new information is available that would justify a change. Estimates will also be reviewed after data for the 5-year Census of Agriculture are available. No revisions will be made after that date Reliability: Survey results are subject to non-sampling errors such as omission, duplication, imputation for missing data, and mistakes in reporting, recording, and processing the data. These errors cannot be measured directly, but are minimized through rigid quality controls in the data collection process and a careful review of all reported data for consistency and reasonableness.
