Combined United States and Canadian Potato Production Down 3 Percent From 2023 This publication is the result of a joint effort by Servicio de Información Agroalimentaria y Pesquera (SIAP), Statistics Canada, and USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) to publish potato production for three countries in one report. All data contained in this report comes from previously published data. The 2024 potato production for the United States and Canada combined is estimated at 548 million cwt, down 3 percent from the 2023 estimate. The United States potato production is estimated at 420 million cwt, down 5 percent from last year. Canada's potato growers harvested 128 million cwt, up 1 percent from 2023. The 2023 potato production for the United States, Canada, and Mexico combined is 611 million cwt, up 8 percent from the 2022 estimate. The United States 2023 potato production is estimated at 440 million cwt, up 9 percent from 2022. Canada's potato growers harvested 127 million cwt during 2023, up 2 percent from 2022. Mexico's potato growers harvested 43.8 million cwt during 2023, up 6 percent from 2022.
