     Casein - National Casein Report for U.S. Imports

     Report 52 - Released on December 29, 2021


     Acid and rennet casein stocks are tight, but market activity is very slow during this short
     week bookended by holidays. Prices are steady and transactional activity is minimal. Casein
     prices have strongly trended higher through 2021. From the first week of 2021 until this
     last week, the rennet casein price range increased 1.3000 – 1.4925. The acid casein price
     range increased 1.4600 – 2.1100. Whether there will be further increases in prices is a
     source of uncertainty. Few sellers or buyers expect much price weakening into 2022. Most
     buyers seeking casein, who can find it, go ahead and close deals. Wait and see is not in
     play.

     Restricted, All Mesh Sizes, Conventional, and Edible Casein

     Acid; Price Range - $/LB:                    4.9600-5.8100
