     Casein - National Casein Report for U.S. Imports

     Report 20 - Released on May 19, 2022

     Acid and rennet prices moved higher on the tops of their respective ranges, albeit with less
     furor than some of the recent price jumps on the casein market. That said, a number of
     traders of casein expect near-term price movements to be bullish, based on myriad factors,
     from New Zealand's production slowdown to the Russia/Ukraine situation's obvious impact on
     production/exports from Eastern Europe. South American shipments are expected to arrive
     stateside by the mid-summer, as some Latin American plant contacts relay a shift from rennet
     to acid casein beginning in Q3. Demand remains robust, as casein availability has clearly
     been tight in the first half of the year, with few expected changes to that equation moving
     into Q3/Q4.

     Restricted, All Mesh Sizes, Conventional, and Edible Casein
