     Casein - National Casein Report for U.S. Imports

     The price ranges for acid casein and rennet casein both moved higher. Tight casein supplies,
     uncertainty about future production, and anxious buyers, all led to this result. Global
     demand for casein of both varieties is strong and getting stronger. Manufacturers are trying
     to increase production but are limited by the available milk. Buyers are increasingly
     contracting further into the future to allay concerns about supply availability.

     New Zealand casein exports January – November 2021 increased 27 percent from January –
     November 2021 according to CLAL data made available by CLAL to USDA. The top importers and
     precent changes are United States, +14.81 percent; China, 57.66 percent; and Mexico, 31.77
     percent.
