NW_LS452 St. Joseph, MO Thu Jan 03, 2019 USDA Market News USDA CARLOT VEAL CARCASS REPORT - Northeast and North Central Basis Compared to last week: The special fed veal carcass market was mostly steady to firm on comparable sales of non-packer owned calves and on packer owned calves. Demand was light to moderate on light offerings. Harvest numbers were 12.3 percent lower compared to last week's total. Dressed weights were up 4.1 pounds in the Northeast, down 11.6 pounds in the North Central, with the total NE & NC being down 3.1 pounds.
