Overview of the U. S. Cattle Industry

This special report examines some of the issues that affected the current cattle cycle such as weather, and provides commentary of value of production, prices received, inventory, slaughter, number of operations and cattle per operation, imports and exports, and gross income . In addition, the report also considers the role and production method of cattle being fed for the slaughter market; a brief description of survey procedures and sampling methods; and terminology and definitions used in NASS cattle publications.
