Vegetable and Pulses Outlook (formerly Vegetables and Melons Outlook and Vegetables and Specialties Situation and Outlook) The Vegetable and Pulses Outlook was formerly titled the Vegetables and Specialties Situation and Outlook (VGS) from 1988 through 2000 and the Vegetables and Melons Outlook (VGS) from 2001 through 2011. These publications provided market analyses, data, and economic perspectives on U.S. vegetable, melon, potato, dry bean, and specialty crop markets. These perspectives included production, consumption, supply, use, value, trade, prices, processing and more. This bi-annual report (the frequency varies over time) contains data and analysis on the vegetable industry including potatoes, pulse crops, and mushrooms. Aggregate output, prices, imports, exports, and per capita availability (disappearance) are reported by commodity.
