This special report presents historical data on the sheep and goat industries including a historical overview of the sheep and goat sector, inventory, operation numbers, inventory values, sheep, lamb, and wool prices, lamb crop, and value of production. The report highlights changes in the sheep industry over the past quarter century, such as in numbers of sheep and goats, wool production, slaughter, and gross income. The data in the report is based on a probability survey of all operations with at least one head of sheep or goats.
