This report was part of a continuing nationwide study of costs and returns on farms and ranches by type and size in some of the important farming regions of the United States. Reports covered Commercial Dairy Farms, Corn Belt Farms, Egg-Producing Farms, Broiler Farms, Cotton Farms, Tobacco Farms, Wheat Farms, livestock ranches and more. Summary statistics for all types of farms are presented in annual reports from 1962 to 1972.

This annual report provides historic estimates of acreage, yield, production, market year average price, and value; comparisons of preliminary and final planted and harvested acreage estimates; and comparisons of production forecasts versus end-of-year and final production estimates. Includes information about barley, canola, corn, cotton, flaxseed, hay, oats, peanuts, rice, rye, sorghum, soybeans, sunflower, wheat, durum, beans, potatoes, sweet potatoes, tobacco, and sugar crops.

Distillers grains or corn gluten feed are co-products created during the production of ethanol, and can be used as feed for livestock. NASS collaborated with the Nebraska Corn Development, Utilization & Marketing Board, an agency of the State of Nebraska, to conduct a survey of livestock producers in 12 Midwestern States to determine current usage of distillers grains, essential feed characteristics and concerns keeping producers from using distillers grains. The probability based survey contacted approximately 9,400 operations comprised of beef (cow/calf and feedlot), dairy, and swine species for information on their use of co-products, preferences in color, type of co-products fed, ratings of co-products, and/or reasons for not using co-products. The study included North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and Illinois with a reference data of calendar year 2006. The National Agricultural Statistics Service is publishing the results at the regional level, combining all states surveyed for each of the four livestock species. Most of the estimates are proportions or percentages which allow for statistical comparisons among operations not feeding distillers grains.

This full-text annual report presents acreage by planted and/or harvested areas by state for corn, soybeans, wheat, oats, barley, rye, sorghum, rice, peanuts, sunflower, flaxseed, canola, rapeseed, safflower, mustard seed, cotton, dry beans, potatoes, sweet potatoes, sugarbeets, alfalfa hay, tobacco, and sugarcane. Starting in 2000, genetically modified plants are reported for selected crops. The Acreage report is a supplement to Crop Production, and the 1986, 1987, 1988, and 1989 issues of Acreage are included in the July Crop Production report itself.

This full-text report, issued four times yearly, contains stocks of all wheat, durum wheat, corn, sorghum, oats, barley, soybeans, flaxseed, canola, rapeseed, rye, sunflower, safflower, mustard seed, by States and U.S. and by position (on-farm or off-farm storage); includes number and capacity of off-farm storage facilities and capacity of on-farm storage facilities. The data is obtained via an off and on-farm stocks survey, the on-farm survey is a probability survey of farm operators, the off-farm stocks survey is enumerates the volume of grain in all known commercial grain storage facilities.

This full-text report, issued 5 times a year, provides data on fresh market vegetables, strawberries and melons, including area harvested, prospective area, yield, and production, by season and crop for major States. Includes bell peppers; broccoli; cabbage; cantaloupe; carrots; cauliflower; celery; cucumbers; eggplant; escarole/endive; head lettuce; honeydews; snap beans; spinach; spring and summer onions; strawberries; spring season acres for harvest for asparagus; strawberries; summer non-storage onions; summer season acres for harvest for snap beans; sweet corn; tomatoes; watermelons.

This publication examines the season-average price, production, supply, use, and trade for feed grains in major exporting and importing countries. The report focuses on corn, but covers sorghum, barley, oats, hay, and wheat as well. Contains future projections production, supply, use, and trade made based on weather conditions and current agricultural and industrial developments. This yearly full-text report provides data on the average agricultural land values. Includes, by state and region, average value per acre for farm real estate (farmland and buildings), irrigated and non-irrigated cropland, and pastureland. Estimates are based mainly on data from the Agricultural Land Values survey which surveys operators on the value of different agricultural land types and total value of all farm real estate. States are grouped by economic regions: Northeast, Lake States, Corn Belt, Northern Plains, Appalachian, Southeast, Delta States, Southern Plains, Mountain, and Pacific.

This annual report includes information on percent of acres and farms that used selected management practices to control crop pests such as insects, weeds, and diseases. The report is based on questions included in NASS's Fall Agriculture Survey, and data for this report are categorized into the pest management categories of prevention, avoidance, monitoring, and suppression. The report is organized by percentage of acres to which the pest management practice is applied and percent of farms using the specific practice at the U.S. and regional levels. The crops surveyed for pest management practices are: barley, corn, cotton, fruits and nuts, hay(alfalfa), hay (other), soybeans, vegetables, wheat, and other crops and cropland pasture.

Renewable Identification Number (RIN) for biofuels created by the EPA as a unit of compliance to assist with the implementation of the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS), which currently sets annual mandates on renewable transportation fuels through 2022. This report was created to facilitate an understanding of the RIN market, which is heavily tied to understanding the effects of RFS mandates on the biofuel and feedstock markets. This report discusses the details of the RIN system and its role in the implementation of the current RFS2, and examines supply, use, prices, and trade for biofuels and biofuel feedstocks both domestically and prospectively in major producing, importing, and exporting countries. Additionally, the report examines historical data and USDA baseline projections in order to generate projections of the biofuel and feedstock markets. The report primarily focuses on ethanol and corn, biodiesel and soybeans. It also contains information on other biofuel feedstocks and second-generation biofuels such as cellulosic and biofuel co-products such as distiller's grains.
